She is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and NC LMBT. Julie’s knowledge of post-surgical rehabilitation, injury prevention and sports specific conditioning has afforded her the opportunity to work on an athletic population spanning from middle school through college athletics. Her continuing education in massage therapy includes Level 1 Certification Advanced Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, Upledger Institute CranioSacral Therapy, Level 1, Prenatal Massage, and Integrated Neuromuscular and Myofascial Therapy coursework for the Neck & Internal Jaw and Lumbar & Pelvis. With over 17 years’ experience and education in sports medicine, one of Julie’s many strengths as an instructor is her powerful clinical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, specifically as they relate to medical conditions and sports related activities/injuries. She is able to impart this knowledge in a way that is accessible to the practicing massage therapist interested in injury prevention, function, and recovery. She has a gift for sensing qi and the subtle energy meridians as studied in the Eastern Healing Arts for thousands of years. Her foundational 1,000 hour training at the Wellspring Center For Eastern Healing Arts And Education in Boise Idaho gave her the opportunity to study directly under the linage of Dr. Tina Sohn who brought AMMA therapy to the United States. AMMA Therapy is a form of traditional massage of Korea working with fascia and the 14 major energy meridians. The Wellspring Center is now located in Portland, Oregon. In addition she has also studied Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation and Western Massage, Western Anatomy and Physiology with Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists & Chiropractors from top therapists in their ﬁelds all throughout North America. To support her training in the mind – body awareness, Michele introduced iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation into her personal daily mindfulness practice. Because of the effectiveness in her own life, she traveled to Marin County, CA and Kripalu Institute in Lenox, MA to study with Dr. Richard Miller – the founder of the Integrative Restoration Institute & iRest to become a Level II Instructor of iRest for groups and individuals.
