Greetings loyal fans of Hands On Health! My name is Makarita Waiari an
I became certified as a personal trainer in 1996 through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and earned a degree in Physical Education and Exercise Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I studied massage therapy at the Body Therapy Instititute in Siler City, NC. I hold a Massage and Bodywork Therapy License in North Carolina. I am a member of IDEA, a resource for fitness professionals and enthusiasts, and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). I’ve known Laura since 1995 and she has shown she can put together a continuing education school worth attending. I have taken four of the I-NMT courses: Abdomen/Torso/Breath, Lumbar and Pelvis, Thigh and Lower Extremities, and Thoracic Outlet and Shoulder Mobilizers. I’ve also taken Movement Repatterning and Ethics courses with Bodywork Therapy Seminars.
I recognize that, when it comes to managing and promoting your business on social media, not everyone finds it intuitive. For some, that's putting it mildly – it can, in fact, be very frustrating. I've found, however, that once certain knowledge gaps are filled, and tools provided to assist the process, most people can become comfortable, even confident, with utilizing social media for their business.
