Lucy Allen

“Compassionate and healing”

PhD, BCTMB, CMLDT

Lucy founded Oncology Massage in the Carolinas after seeing a need to match up oncology massage therapists with people with a history of cancer.  While training people in massage, she has seen a passion in the therapists to be able to provide a safe, effective massage for cancer patients and survivors, but no good way to attract that clientele.  While working in the St. Francis Cancer Center, she sees people who want a safe massage, but do not want it in the same place they are being treated, and not knowing where to find a properly trained therapist. She sees this site as a way to connect the two.

PhD (Folklore)

BCTMB (Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork)

Specialized Certificate in Oncology Massage from NCBTMB

CMLDT (Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist)

Massage license in South Carolina (#4348) and North Carolina (#5652)

Putting Patients First

RN, MSN, NP, CHPN*

I am a nurse and breast cancer survivor.  Having been “in the chair” and understanding some of what cancer patients go through, I know how important it is to find some comfort and compassion in cancer treatment.  Providing oncology massage education is a way for me to support patients in their quest for peace and wellbeing.  I am proud to be a survivor and consider it a privilege to provide support, education, and understanding to oncology patients and their caregivers.  Safe massage is soothing and calming in the otherwise overwhelming environment of cancer treatment.

RN—Registered Nurse

MSN—Masters of Science in Nursing
